Adrian Fajardo

Mr. Adrian Fajardo
Biography: I am from Waco, Texas. I went to University High School and graduated in 2013 and then graduated from McLennan Community College and from there graduated from Tarleton State University. During the time of going to MCC, I picked up my first book named the “Narrative of Frederick Douglass”. After reading the book, I fell in love with reading. I love the fact that reading can take you into another world. Frederick’s famous quote says “Once you learn how to read, you’ll be forever free”. I am so glad to be able to teach other children from my very own community on what reading can do for them.  I have been happily married for two years to a wonderful wife. We have a dog named Honey who is a rescue dog. I have one brother and one sister. I am also currently writing my own book.

My Why: I was in SPED when I was in third grade. I remember my mother coming in and out of the classroom because the teacher would have conferences with her to inform me that I was academically behind. The only way for me to go back to regular classes was to test out of the SPED program. I have always been academically behind. I know what it was like to be left behind. To be placed after the “smart kids”. However, that did not stop me. I kept pressing forward knowing that one day it was going to pay off. I knew one day that I was going to be able to be a role model to the kids who were just like me. I can finally say I can do that. This is my “why” on why every morning I wake up excited to teach my kids.
