Join Hispanic Leaders' Network and The Mayborn Museum in celebrating Hispanic History Month with “Color of Maya” tells the fascinating history and culture of the Mayan Empire through festive dance ceremonies to native music. Grupo Pakal Artists, dressed in stunning wardrobe and elaborate headdresses, will present traditional Mesoamerican dances including: Live Mayan Music with authentic Mayan instruments with beautiful harmonies and dance music. Offering to the Four Directions, Chac and the Creation Myth, Mother Earth Celebration, A Tribute to Kukulkan, and the New Fire Ceremony. At the close of the performance, join Grupo Pakal’s Artistic Director, Ricardo Alarcón, for a discussion about the presentation’s historical and cultural significance.
